Membership to Western Australian Portrait Artists (WAPA) requires that:

1:The applicant resides in Western Australia or has a strong connection to WA.

​

2: The applicant has been a finalist in one of the following Portrait Awards: The Lester Prize, The Archibald Portrait Prize, The  Doug Moran Portrait Prize, The Portia Geach Memorial Award, Shirley Hannan National Portrait Prize and the Percival Portrait Prize or an International portrait prize that is equivalent.

 

3. We also have juried membership. Please contact us to see whether you are eligible.

4. The applicant is willing to contribute to the group and its activities.

​

5. You will be required to submit a brief biography, three images of your portraits plus a headshot which will become your profile on the website.

​

Fees and Costs:

​

1: An Annual fee of $100 (pro rata) for 2026.

​

2: Share group exhibition costs.
