Steve Dyer

The evolution of any artist is a long and varied path of creative experimentation and exploration, the inspiration being life's experiences and dreams.

Steve Dyer is an Artist, qualified Teacher and Designer currently living and working in Perth, Western Australia.

Born in the North West of England, his artistic talents were first recognized at a very young age and at thirteen he won a scholarship to Bolton College of Art and Design.

His working career has included Painting and drawing, all forms, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Sign Writing, Mural Arts, Decorative Applications, Art Glass, sculpture, in addition to teaching others to reach their full artistic aspirations.

Steve paints in many mediums including water colour, acrylic and oil, but his inspiration comes from the abstract and bizarre and the relationships between the natural world, the human body and the creative brain.

Before immigrating to Perth in 1998 with his wife and two children, his paintings were shown in many exhibitions in the UK and bought by collectors and admirers alike.

He has won many awards in Perth including the Melville Art Awards, South Perth Art Awards and several awards from WASA.

Currently he is devoting more time to his particular passion of Surrealism and is a co-founder of The Contemporary Australian Surrealist's Movement, a group devoted to surrealistic and fantasy painting and sculpture. He is also a committee member of The West Australian Society of Artists

In addition to this he is a qualified teacher and has taught part time as an art therapist in Salter Point and ran workshops and classes at several venues in Perth WA.

Recently he has been accepted to be a member of The West Australian Portrait Artists group Perth.
