Brad Durrant

During the early part of Brads scientific career, a strong interest in scientific illustration emerged resulting in a solid set of drawing skills and a keen eye for detail and accuracy. In 2010, Brad moved into portraiture, exploring a number of different approaches and surfaces and winning a number of local art awards. In recent years, Brad has established himself as a regular in the local Perth art scene, with success in local art awards and as a three-time finalist in the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture.

Brad's use of graphite to create realistic, intimate portraits has won him many fans, and he continues to evolve his approach to the use of varied surfaces and striking artistic composition, particularly with respect to negative space.
