Marcus Callum
Marcus Callum is an Australian painter based in Perth, Western Australia (currently in the UK).
A three-time Archibald Prize finalist, Marcus is recognised for his realist portraits that merge the timeless grandeur of traditional oil painting with a contemporary edge. His achievements include winning the Lester Prize (formerly the Black Swan) in 2015 and the Shirley Hannan National Portrait Prize in 2018, cementing his reputation for excellence in portraiture.
Marcus has been a finalist in numerous other prestigious prizes and honed his craft through extensive training at Sydney's Julian Ashton Art School (Dobell Scholarship), the National Art School, the Art Students League, and the New York Academy of Art (Academy Scholarship).
