Sarah McBride
Sarah McBride is a visual artist based in Perth whose main art practice is portraiture. She enjoys the challenge of interpretating the character and altruistic motivations of her sitter. She portrays this essence of self using quirky visual vernaculars to highlight social issues and challenge outdated beliefs and stereotypes.
Sarah has garnered many art awards with her most recent being a finalist in the 2022 Doug Moran National Portraiture prize with her portrait Shiny. Her paintings are in many private collections, and she has contributed to various group exhibitions including Southwest Art Now. Her solo exhibition Restoration incorporated animals as the main subject matter within surreal narratives that focussed on environmental concerns.
Sarah also tutors art workshops in Bunbury, Busselton and Perth teaching a variety of mediums, genres, painting techniques and fundamentals.
