Tess McOnie
Although still very young, Tessa has won several prestigious awards, and held her first solo exhibition in 2010 at Linton and Kay Contemporary in Perth. Native to Perth, she has found profound insight into life and people through her art and in particular her time spent with Indigenous communities of Western Australia.
In 2017 Tessa was selected to feature in the Foxtel Arts series ‘The Archibald’ capturing the journey of eight artists and their subjects, from blank canvas to finished work, for the first time ever. Tessa is the youngest and only WA participant in the show, alongside acclaimed artists George Gittoes, Jason Phu, Nicholas Harding, Nick Stathopoulos, Tim Storrier, Wendy Sharpe and Yvette Coppersmith, with subjects including Julian Assange and Isla Fisher to name a few. The Archibald show aired on Foxtel Arts Sep/Oct 2017.
