She has been named as a finalist for her portraits in multiple major art awards, including the 2018 Hurford Hardwood Portrait Prize, the 2018 Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award (JADA), and the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture in 2016, 2017 & 2018.

Commissioned portraits have made up a large portion of Kendal’s work in recent years. Her work is held in private collections in Australia and Japan.
